When the NPC reaches the first intersection and the first wave of spawns appears, hang back, let her walk through and wait until the mobs despawn/a clear gap appears which you can run though without aggroing. When the NPC reaches the bottom of the camp a larger group will spawn - just attack them and pull them east, using slows and snares to kite them . The NPC will just run ahead and complete the quest, you don't have to kill anything. With the NPC's help, a lot of skill, a couple of extra levels, and a bit of luck, you might be able to solo them.

We went back to the cage, waited for the respawn...which took several minutes, then went back down the valley and kicked NPC butt. Remember you don't have to kill everything to beat this quest you could just distract them and let the little goblin not notice them.

Not being funny but is this suppose to be a group quest or something ? Don't try it solo unless u r lvl 45 or something. I also needed to use regrowth and rejuvenation then switch back to bear form in both of the fights. I also used a healing touch in the first fight, near the end, but I think that was a mistake in that I was unable to get back into bear form to finish things off.
